Rana Tandoori Hut, a restaurant owned and operated by Mehta Vijay Dutta & Brijinder Dutta. Rana Tandoori Hut was founded in 1995. It is located in Bathinda, a city of Punjab (India), the restaurant features Indian, Tandoori, Chinese and Continental food.

How I did it…
My name is Mehta Vijay Dutta. I am owner of Rana Tandoori Hut. It is located in Bathinda, Punjab (India). In Bathinda our address is Street no 8, Main Bhagu Road Bathinda. I was born on 07 september 1950 in Bhiwani. I completed my higher studies at Rajindra college, Bathinda. Moreover, From my childhood, I was interested in cooking. During my school days and even during my college days, I took part in cooking classes. I still remember during my college life I got award in cooking. Day by day my interest in cooking was growing and I always tried to cook something new.
As my life was moving, time came to get married. During March 1980, I got marriage with Brijinder Dutta. She is my wife and as well as my good friend from day we became life partners. My better half was also interested in cooking. During our those days, She used to make different types foods such as, Indian, continental, chinese and many more. Day by day our interest was growing in cooking and we together also tried new dishes. After few years of marriage, we got two kids, son’s name is Rahul Dutta and now days he is settled in USA with his family. My daughter’s name is Prabhjot Dutta, she was married to vivek, And now days she is lives in Shimla with her In-Law family.
I went to German in July 1985, and worked in Frank Fart city’s hotel Gaylord. In February 1991, I came back to my home country. After few months from my return, me and my wife decided to start the business, because of my knowledge and experience about different types of foods. In May 1991, we started the Dutta & Dutta catering. My wife Brijinder Dutta also supported me. During our catering business, she also opened the cooking school. It was named Rana Cooking School. She teach students about various types of foods like, Indian veg and non-veg, Tandoori, Chinese’s, Continental. Students after learning about cooking, then they apply for aboard.
In march 1995, I opened the Rana Tandoori Hut. It’s a Indian restaurant. Students who are trained at Rana Cooking School, I provide them job in Rana Tandoori Hut. Within few years, some students became Indian cook and some went abroad. For an instance, Tejinder kaur in Austraila (PR), Narinder kaur in Canada (PR), Gurjant Singh in German (Work Permit), Beant Singh in Finland (Work Permit), Napinder Singh in Newzeland (PR), Deepak Shukla in Japan(PR), Manpreet Singh Austraila (Under 457 visa) and many more.
In addition to it, our some students go abroad for studies. When they come back to India, we provide them job. In this way, our students get chance to get knowledge about foreign foods. Students have not face to problem in abroad. Moreover, me and my wife went to Pasacola City in USA in 2013 as my son lives there, that time we got chance to work in 7 street restaurant and gain more knowledge and learn about different type of dishes. I added some recipes to my menu. we are happy with our business.
